Im a Terrible Blogger

Im sorry! It has been 6 months since I have gotten on here. I am so terrible at this kind of stuff but I really want to get better. My amazing friend, Jordanae Kimball, has inspired me to start doing better with blogging, so I am going to try to do it at least once a week. I want it to be a journal for me since I don't have one...so hopefully I can stick at it. If I don't, I need someone to nag me about it until I do, so I hold you all responsible =)
Anywhoo, well hopefully everyone knows I finally had the little guy that I blogged about last. His name is Mr. Carter and he is the greatest joy in Cragen's and my life! Yesterday he turned 2 months old, and I cant believe how big he has gotten! I am not sure how much he weighs now, but he was 13 pounds 3 weeks ago. Now that he is 2 months, here are some things that he has started to do:
  • He is just starting to try to grab toys! For some reason he has a harder time with that than my hair. He grabs my hair and yanks it so easily but he will take five minutes of looking at a toy (cross eyed) before he decides to try and swing his arm to hit it.
  • He also has been starting to smile so much! All we have to do is say "HI" to him and he will start cheesin'!
  • He has a slight addiction to chewing on his tongue and sticking it in and out of his mouth. This has been going on for practically the whole time he is awake for the past week. Its hilarious and he looks like a lizard.
  • He has been starting to sleep for longer stretches during the night. He will sleep 5 hours, wake up to eat then stay up for 2 or 3 hours breathing really loud (sounds like he is hyperventilating) moving his arms and kicking his legs like crazy. During this awake period he will start talking and laughing. I sometimes don't see the humor of it when I am dead tired in that moment, but later, when I see his adorable smile I cant help but smile back and I forget about how tired I am.
  • He has rolled over a few times, but he is not consistent at it. I'm sure he will get better at it this month!
  • He stands up with his super strong legs (I hold him as he does it, of course). Sometimes he even does squats! He is so strong.
  • His favorite word is "nananana." I guess its just cooing, but its cute. When he is mad, sad, and happy, he always makes the same cooing sound.
I would not recommend doing school at the same time, but I got to git er done because its my last semester and I am determined to graduate! Mr. Carter is the greatest blessing in our life and we are so excited to watch him grow! These past two months have felt pretty long, but when I look back at pictures I am amazed at how quickly time goes by. Mr. Carter is not a new born anymore! It makes me sad sometimes, but I really am excited to see the new things that he will be able to do. He seems to want to grow up already and try new things earlier than I thought he would, but I am starting to be okay with that. Plus, Cragen is going crazy talking about taking him hunting and fishing =)
